The campus community mourns the passing of Geraldine “Gerry” Johnson, who died on Sunday, May 24. Geraldine worked for dining services for 11 years, retiring in 1991. She was born Aug. 30, 1926 in Monroe Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Heiser) Baum. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Alexander Legros, of Winfield and Ellen and James Hackenberg, of Selinsgrove; six grandchildren, Christian and Ian Legros, Jenifer Voneida, Eric Hackenberg, Neal Johnson, and Melissa Demuth; six great-grandchildren, Thomas, Lucas, Jaren, Aubree, Jeep, and Imogene; and one sister, Patricia Gordon, of Mifflinburg. The campus community mourns the passing of Larry Zeller, who died on Saturday, May 16. Larry worked as an electrician for 26 years and retired in 2010. Larry was born May 29, 1943, a son of the late Francis Samuel and Jean (Wagner) Zeller. On February 16, 1962, he married the former Barbara Metzger, who survives. Larry graduated Mifflinburg Area High School in 1962. The campus community mourns the passing of David Ray, 84, who died on Monday, March 2. David joined the Bucknell faculty in 1964 and after teaching for 35 years, retired as Professor Emeritus of Mathematics in 1999. In 1970, David received the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching. He also served as Chairman of the Mathematics Department and Chairman of the Faculty during his time at the University. The campus community mourns the passing of Lorraine Kistler, who died on Wednesday, February 25. Lorraine worked for dining services for 19 years, retiring in 1997. Born Sept. 15, 1933, in Renovo, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Sr. and Geraldine (Knoebel) Boop. On Jan. 1, 1954, she married Allen Kistler, who survives. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage. She was a member of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg. The campus community mourns the passing of Gerald Wang Cooke, 89, who died on Wednesday, December 24, 2014. Gerald joined the Bucknell faculty in 1962 and, after teaching for 26 years, retired as Professor Emeritus of Religion in 1988. ​He graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School, continued his education at Colorado College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, and then at Yale Divinity School, where he graduated with a degree of Doctor of Divinity. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the national academic honor society. The campus community mourns the passing of Moises G. Veloz, who worked as a shop technician in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. He passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Lewisburg. Moises was a loving and dedicated husband and father as well as an avid fan of the San Antonio Spurs. The campus community mourns the passing of Professor Richard Nickelsen, 89, who died on Sunday, November 23. Richard joined the Bucknell Faculty in 1959 and after teaching for 33 years, retired as Professor Emeritus of Geology in 1992. He was born October 1, 1925, in Lynbrook, NY, son of the late Karl and Olga (Holm) Nickelsen. On November 18, 1950, he married the former Helen “Cindy” Beardsley. The campus community mourns the passing of Connie Boyer, 69, who died on Saturday, October 18th. Connie worked as a custodian, retiring in 2007 after 24 years at Bucknell. Born on June 25, 1945, in West Milton, she was a daughter of the late Mary (Stump) Boone and a 1963 graduate of Danville High School.
