The campus community mourns the passing of Robert Albert, 88, who died Monday, Jan. 6. Robert retired in 1999 after more than 22 years of service to Bucknell in Facilities.

Robert L. Albert, 88 of Turbot Ave., Milton passed away on January 6, 2025 at Milton Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Lewisburg on July 8, 1936 he was the son of the late Bertram Albert and Mary (Troxell) Albert Baker. He was married to the former Mary (Stahl) Klees who preceded him in death in 2023 after 47 years of marriage.
Robert was a 1956 graduate of West Snyder High School, and he went to barber school in Sunbury. He worked as a barber in Camp Hill and in McClure and then he worked at Bucknell in the maintenance department and as a bus driver. He was a lifelong Phillies fan. Robert played baritone and euphonium in the Sunbury City Band, the Selinsgrove Adult Band, the Danville Community Band, and the Milton Community Band.
He is survived by a son, Robert C. Albert; a daughter, Gloria Farquhar; four stepsons. David A. Klees, Jack D. Klees, Richard E. Klees, and Stephen J. Klees; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends and relatives will be received on Monday, January 13 from 6- 8 p.m. at Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton. Private burial will be in McClure Union Cemetery on Tuesday.
