The campus community mourns the passing of Kenneth Beaver Sr., 82, who died Saturday, June 1. Kenneth retired as the golf course supervisor in 2003 after more than 37 years of service at Bucknell.

Kenneth Warren Beaver Sr., 82, of Lewisburg, died on the evening of Saturday, June 1, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Aug. 2, 1941, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Warren and May (Rhoads) Beaver. On June 10, 1961, he married Catherine, a daughter of the late Solomon and Lydia Boyer. Together they celebrated nearly 63 years of marriage.
Kenneth was a 1959 graduate of Lewisburg High School. He worked for Bucknell University Golf Course for 37 years, retiring in 2002. Kenneth also worked for C. Dreisbach Sons Hardware, Cleveland Brother’s Equipment Co. and W.A. Dehart.
He was a member of Mazeppa Union Church, where in the past he served as Deacon. He was a life member of the Mid Penn Sportsman Club, a member of Halfway Rod & Gun Club, the NRA, and Royal Arcanum. Kenneth also served on the Mazeppa Cemetery board as secretary for 13 years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed music and the outdoors.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Kenneth Beaver Jr., of Milton; a daughter, Brenda Swartz, of Lewisburg; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Michael Wilson, of Kelly Crossroads; three grandchildren, Michelle Beaver, of California, Bradly Swartz, of Montoursville and Bethany Nehf, of Shippensburg; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Blanch Beaver; a brother and sister-in-law, Marlyn and Beatrice Beaver; and a grandson, Kenneth C. Beaver.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6, at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Hauck officiating.
Kenneth will be laid to rest in Mazeppa Union Cemetery following the funeral service.
The family suggests memorial contributions in the memory of Kenneth be made to either Samaritan’s Purse or the Salvation Army.
