The campus community mourns the passing of Robert Zartman, 79, who died Sunday, May 5, 2024. Robert retired as a custodial section supervisor in 2015 after more than 28 years of service at Bucknell.

Robert Earnest Zartman went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center.
Robert was born Dec. 1, 1944, in White Deer. He was the middle child born to Elwood Earl and Ruth Alice (Klingman) Zartman. Robert was a Lewisburg High School graduate in the class of 1963. His death breaks a marriage bond of 57 years to Jean Marie (Moser) Zartman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as several siblings, Carole Kitchens, Henry Lee Zartman, and Rosemary V. Zartman.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; their only child, Christine M. Steward; sisters, Ruthy Ann Hixson and Allison Jeanette Zartman; and brother, Joseph Zartman, in addition to his granddaughters.
Robert retired from Bucknell University, where he was a custodial supervisor. Robert enjoyed gardening and his family. Instead of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the American Cancer Society for blood cancer research, or a blood donation in his memory.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Milton, with the Rev. Michael Stein officiating.
