The campus community mourns the passing of Carol Erdley, 77, who died Wednesday, March 6. Carol retired from Bucknell in 2013 after more than 21 years of service as a custodian in the facilities department.

Carol Elizabeth Erdley, 77, of Lewisburg, entered into rest Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 13, 1946, in Lewisburg, the daughter of the late Paul E. and Helen Marie (Connelly) Bowersox. On July 29, 1973, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Lewisburg, she married Donald E. Erdley, who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Lewisburg High School, Class of 1964.
Carol retired from Bucknell University after working as a custodian and in dining services. She also worked as a server at the Temperance House and the Lewisburg Inn.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and the former Mifflinburg Moose.
She enjoyed knitting, fishing, especially at Black Lake in New York, and scratching off lottery tickets.
Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Missy and Dan Marks of Mifflinburg, Barb and Gary Moore II of Berwick, Rebecca and Tim Sossong of Moses Lake, Wash., and Tammy Chapin of Benton; one son, Jeffrey Erdley of Mifflinburg; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, James and Kay Bowersox of Connecticut.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Chapin.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Adamo Funeral Home, 16 Walnut St., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 6 p.m. with Pastor Alice Rouch officiating.
