Patricia Best

The campus community mourns the passing of Patricia Best, 88, who died Friday, Feb. 2. Patricia retired from Bucknell in 1997 after more than 22 years of service in the facilities department.

Patricia A. Best, 88, of Linden Road, Lewisburg, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. Patricia was born May 31, 1935, in Frackville, a daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn (Boyer) Kiefer. On July 2, 1960, she married Thomas J. Best Sr., who preceded her in death.

She was a 1953 graduate of Clearfield Area High School and then attended Lycoming College for two years.

Patricia was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cowan.

She was a member and past Matron of Chapter No. 153 Mifflinburg Eastern Star and then joined the Lewisburg No. 394 Eastern Star, a member of the Amaranth, Inc., a member of the Rainbow advisory board, a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Northumberland.

Patricia was an avid reader and patron of the arts. She enjoyed traveling, and supporting her sons at sporting events.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas J. Best Jr. and Jeffrey A. Best, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
