Lucille Kline

The campus community mourns the passing of Lucille Kline, 101, who died on Monday, March 7.  Lucille worked as a secretary in the Department of Athletics, retiring in 1972 after 21 years of service.

She was born June 25, 1914 in Parrott, VA, a daughter of the late Walter and Oma (Warfe) Sutherland. Lucille and her husband, Floyd E. Kline, celebrated 51 years of marriage before his death on November 11, 1987.

Lucille was a graduate of Bell Springs High School, VA.  She was a member of the Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg. Lucille enjoyed reading and playing cards, especially bridge. She loved spending winters in Florida.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Carol Kline of Newport, and Edward and Marilyn Kline of New Columbia; five grandchildren and their spouses, Alan Jr. and Jackie Kline, Deb and Greg Miller, Ed II and Gale Kline, Lisa and Daryn James and Mike and Barb Kline; nine great-grandchildren, Jeremy Hendricks, Justin Kline, Zack Miller, Jessica Gemberling, Brittany Miller, Riley James, Josh, Brooke, and Emily Kline; 4 step great-grandchildren, Jordan, Alexa, Caitlin, and Colton Stine; one great-great-grandson, Braxton Miller; one great-great-grandchild on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third St., Lewisburg, PA 17837. The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St. Lewisburg.
