The campus community mourns the passing of Herbert Peterson, 91, who died Monday, Dec. 25. Herb retired from Bucknell in 1995 as Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering after more than 30 years of service as a faculty member. Herb’s colleagues in the mechanical engineering department shared that he demonstrated a clear focus on student learning throughout his career, being one of the first within the department to adopt computer-aided instructional methods and create new laboratory exercises to make this new technology accessible to students. David Ray

The campus community mourns the passing of David Ray, 84, who died on Monday, March 2. David joined the Bucknell faculty in 1964 and after teaching for 35 years, retired as Professor Emeritus of Mathematics in 1999. In 1970, David received the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching. He also served as Chairman of the Mathematics Department and Chairman of the Faculty during his time at the University. Lorraine Kistler

The campus community mourns the passing of Lorraine Kistler, who died on Wednesday, February 25. Lorraine worked for dining services for 19 years, retiring in 1997. Born Sept. 15, 1933, in Renovo, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Sr. and Geraldine (Knoebel) Boop. On Jan. 1, 1954, she married Allen Kistler, who survives. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage. She was a member of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.
