The campus community mourns the passing of Jeremy Russell, 42, who died Saturday, Nov. 25. Jeremy worked as a University quantitative support specialist in the Teaching & Learning Center since March 2023. Jeremy’s colleagues have shared that he was a highly experienced teacher and thoughtful pedagogue who was deeply committed to students and focused on access and equity. During his brief time at Bucknell, he built great resources and took the initial steps of establishing strong programs. Michael Noll

Charles C. Pinter

The campus community mourns the passing of Charles Pinter, who died on Monday, July 3. Charles retired as professor emeritus of mathematics in 2004 after more than 38 years of service to Bucknell. David Ray

The campus community mourns the passing of David Ray, 84, who died on Monday, March 2. David joined the Bucknell faculty in 1964 and after teaching for 35 years, retired as Professor Emeritus of Mathematics in 1999. In 1970, David received the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching. He also served as Chairman of the Mathematics Department and Chairman of the Faculty during his time at the University. Lorraine Kistler

The campus community mourns the passing of Lorraine Kistler, who died on Wednesday, February 25. Lorraine worked for dining services for 19 years, retiring in 1997. Born Sept. 15, 1933, in Renovo, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Sr. and Geraldine (Knoebel) Boop. On Jan. 1, 1954, she married Allen Kistler, who survives. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage. She was a member of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg. Richard P. Nickelsen

The campus community mourns the passing of Professor Richard Nickelsen, 89, who died on Sunday, November 23. Richard joined the Bucknell Faculty in 1959 and after teaching for 33 years, retired as Professor Emeritus of Geology in 1992. He was born October 1, 1925, in Lynbrook, NY, son of the late Karl and Olga (Holm) Nickelsen. On November 18, 1950, he married the former Helen “Cindy” Beardsley. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage. Connie Boyer

The campus community mourns the passing of Connie Boyer, 69, who died on Saturday, October 18th. Connie worked as a custodian, retiring in 2007 after 24 years at Bucknell. Born on June 25, 1945, in West Milton, she was a daughter of the late Mary (Stump) Boone and a 1963 graduate of Danville High School. She was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church in Milton, a former member and past president of the Millmont West Union Area Lions Club, and a volunteer for Evangelical Hospice.
