Doris Dysinger

Dear Colleagues:

The campus community mourns the passing of Doris Dysinger M’94, 70, who died on Thursday, March 9.  Doris served as the Curator of Special Collections in the Bucknell University Archives, retiring in 2008 after 24 years of service to the University.

She was born April 22, 1946, in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Paul and Thelma (King) Geringer. On June 19, 1971, Doris married James A. Dysinger who survives.

Doris graduated with honors from Muncy High School in 1964. She attended Lock Haven State College with a dual major in English and Theater, Class of 1968. Upon graduation Doris became a teacher in the Warrior Run School District.

During her time at Bucknell, Doris earned her master’s degree in Women’s Studies.

In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeremy A. and Valerie Dysinger, of Williamson, NY, and Joel A. Dysinger, of Milton; and two grandsons, Jaden and Marshall.

A private burial will be held on Tuesday in the Milton Cemetery.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at the Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 North Front Street, Milton.
