Betty Berry

The campus community mourns the passing of Betty Berry, who died on Wednesday, April 11. Betty retired from Bucknell Dining in 1995, after 26 years of service to the University. Betty’s husband, Charles, also retired from Bucknell after being employed in Facilities.

Betty P. Berry, 84, of New Berlin, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.

She was born May 27, 1933, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late David and Margaret (Brown) Dreese. In 1954, she married Charles Berry who survives.

Betty was a graduate of Lewisburg High School. She was employed by Bucknell University.

She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Dry Valley, and a member of the Auxiliary of the Mifflinburg VFW.

Betty was an avid Penn State and NASCAR fan with her favorite driver being Jeff Gordon.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and John Brungard of Loganton, Terry and David Walls of Mifflinburg, and Margaret and Elvis Thomas of Loganton; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; seven great-greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Leisenring of Winfield and June Bowersox of Mifflinburg; and two brothers, James Dreese and Willard Dreese, both of Winfield.

She was preceded in death by one son, Sidney; one brother, William; and one great-granddaughter, Cathrynne.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 11. Interment will be in Chestnut Hills Cemetery, Winfield.
