Chia-Ching retired from Library &amp; Information Technology in 1994 after 30 years of service to Bucknell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both of Chia-Ching\u2019s daughters, Grace Chang-Fuoto \u201887 and Lil (Chang) DeWald \u201892, are Bucknell alumni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Included below is the complete text of the obituary, as provided by the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I encourage you to visit our In Memoriam site to share personal notes of sympathy and remembrance with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On behalf of our entire University community, I extend our deepest sympathies to Chia-Ching\u2019s family, as well as to all who knew him at Bucknell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John C. Bravman<br>President<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Chia-Ching Chang, beloved father, 92, of Lewisburg, entered into rest at 9:40 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg, with his family by his side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was born June 19, 1929, in Jiangsu Province, China, son of the late Chih-Ching and Hsiu-Chen Chang. On August 23, 1964, he married Janet Chia-Shiang Chang, who preceded him in death September 30, 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chia-Ching obtained a bachelor\u2019s degree in Taiwan and a master\u2019s degree in Library Science from George Peabody College, Tennessee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was employed at Bucknell University in the Ellen Clarke Bertrand Library for 30 years until retirement. He was active in Chinese cultural activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chia-Ching enjoyed exercising, drawing, stamp collecting, and playing the Erhu (Chinese violin). He wanted to share his culture with the community and held a presentation at the local library. Chia-Ching was a member of the Kelly Township Planning Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was a good role model to his children, and taught them the importance of a good work ethic and to be respectful to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Surviving is one son, Anthony Chang of Virginia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Grace and Victor Fuoti of New Jersey, and Lilian and John DeWald of Lewisburg; and three grandchildren, Matthew and Natalie DeWald, and Olivia Fuoti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Family and friends are welcome from 1:30 to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 19, at Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Road, Milton, where the funeral will be conducted at 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Burial will be in Montandon Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Diakon Senior Living Services (Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village) Benevolent Care Fund, at diakon.org\/giving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing home for their kindness and compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Colleagues, The campus community mourns the passing of Chia-Ching Chang, who died on Thursday, March 3.
