Ruth A. Miller, 74, of Old Route 45, Milton, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by her beloved family.<\/p>\n
She was born July 22, 1944, a daughter of the late John and Alice Hollenbach. She married Harry (Jack) Miller, who survives, on Jan. 1, 1965 and together they celebrated 54 years of marriage.<\/p>\n
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Jackie and David Thoryk of Campbelltown, Julie and Paul Ruch of Turbotville, and Penny and Chris Trapani of Turbotville; six grandchildren, Bethany and Amanda Thoryk, Garrett and Riley Ruch and Lauren and Lindsey Trapani; one brother, Thomas Hollenbach\u00a0of Washington, D.C.; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Raymond Leeser of Milton; one brother-in-law, James Moore of Watsontown; and many dear friends.<\/p>\n
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Moore.<\/p>\n
Ruth was an employee of Bucknell University until her retirement in 2012.<\/p>\n
She touched the lives of many and thumbed her nose at cancer during the past five years. Ruth enjoyed traveling with her husband on countless adventures, spending time with her grandchildren and attending their many sporting events, playing cards with her card club friends each week,\u00a0reconnecting with old friends and making the annual two week family trip to the beach.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Paul\u2019s United Church of Christ in West Milton, followed by the funeral at 11.<\/p>\n
Donations in Ruth\u2019s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.<\/p>\n
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Ashley Smith and her care team from the Gynecologic Oncology Department at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.<\/p>\n
