Bravman
President

Jeanne Kathleen Hafer, of Winfield, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sept. 30, 2026.

Born on March 24, 1953, in Sunbury, she was the daughter of the late Franklin M. Fisher Sr. and E. June Fisher,

Jeanne grew up on the Isle of Que and graduated from Selinsgrove High School in 1971. She attended Shippensburg University. On Nov. 2, 1974, she married the love of her life, Ken Hafer, in Rooke Chapel. Together, they built a loving family and shared nearly 52 years of marriage.

Jeanne was a loving mother and Ken’s devoted partner in life. For over three decades, she worked alongside him, providing steady support and encouragement in their business, Orchard Pump and Supply Co. Earlier in her career, she brought her warmth and dedication to Continental Telephone Company in Selinsgrove, the Lewisburg Area High School guidance office, and Bucknell’s Events Management office. There, as Director of Non-University Events for nearly 30 years, she deeply cherished her colleagues and lifelong friends.

She was an avid volunteer in the community and was known for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others. Her positive attitude, always with a smile, was her lasting gift.

Above all, Jeanne was a beloved wife, devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She cherished her family and the time she spent with others. She enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, doing puzzles, traveling, cheering for Penn State football, Bucknell basketball, and gathering with family and friends.

Additionally, Jeanne was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Lewisburg and attended Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes, Del. She was a devout Christian whose faith directed her life.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Hafer of Winfield, Pa.; her two sons, Nate Hafer and his wife, Michelle, of Worcester, Mass; Chris Hafer and his wife, Christine, of Malvern, Pa.; and her three beloved grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as Nana: Henry, Hanna, and Jack Hafer. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Frank Fisher, John Fisher, Jane Dunkelberger, Janet Tomcavage, Steve Fisher, and their families. She was preceded in death by her brother Dan Fisher.

Services will be held on Monday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. in Rooke Chapel. A reception for family and friends will follow the service in the Terrace Room located in the Elaine Langone Center.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in honor of Jeanne to the Geisinger Lewisburg Cancer Center, payable to Geisinger Health Foundation, 100 N. Academy Ave MC 40-36, Danville Pa., 17822, or the Public Library for Union County, 255 Reitz Blvd, Lewisburg, Pa., 17837.

Jeanne will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her love, kindness, faith and caring spirit will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Jeanne K., please visit our floral store.

The campus community mourns the passing of Jeanne Hafer, 73, who died Wednesday, Sep. 30.
