Lorraine Kistler

The campus community mourns the passing of Lorraine Kistler, who died on Wednesday, February 25. Lorraine worked for dining services for 19 years, retiring in 1997.

Born Sept. 15, 1933, in Renovo, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Sr. and Geraldine (Knoebel) Boop. On Jan. 1, 1954, she married Allen Kistler, who survives. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage.

She was a member of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons and a daughter-in-law; Perry and Lori Kistler of Lewisburg and David Kistler and his fiance, Elaine Michael, of Turbotville; a daughter, Joy Kistler of Milton; a brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence Jr. and Lenora Boop of Ohio; six grandchildren, Chris, Brooke, Stephanie, Tonya, Jacob and Brittany; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Edwin Boop; and a sister, Pauline Yoder.

The family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third Street, Lewisburg, PA 17837. The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg. Expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cronrathgrenoblefuneralhome.com.

On behalf of the entire Bucknell community, I extend our deepest sympathies to Lorraine’s family, as well as to all who knew her at Bucknell.
