The campus community mourns the passing of Geraldine Sauers, 81, who died on Friday, March 25. Geraldine worked for the University for 31 years, retiring as a custodial supervisor in 1996.
Geraldine was born June 30, 1934, in Selinsgrove, a daughter of the late Leon and Mary (Herman) Schrader. On June 28, 1952, she married Donald B. Sauers, who survives.
Geraldine was a 1952 graduate of Selinsgrove High School. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kratzerville and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 394, Lewisburg.
In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Donna K. and Michael A. Haas of Selinsgrove; two sons and daughters-in-law, Neal D. and Annette C. Sauers of Mifflinburg and Steven M. and Brenda L. Sauers of Middleburg; six grandchildren and spouses, Heather M. and Daryl Bly, Jessica L. Haas and fiancé Douglas Shaffer, Katie L. Sauers, Benjamin D. and Linsey Sauers, Heidi Ann and Joshua Scholl, and Bradley M. Sauers and fiancé Olivia Hunter; six great-grandchildren, Bailey, Ezra, Tyson, Annie, Harrison and Alexa; one sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Lee Benner of Doylestown; and two brothers, Eugene Schrader and companion Kay Derk of Lemoyne and Marvin Schrader of Lewisburg.
