Robert “Bob” Brungraber GP’05

The campus community mourns the passing of Robert Brungraber GP’05, who died on Monday, June 27, 2022. Bob retired as professor emeritus of civil & environmental engineering in 1992 after 23 years of service to Bucknell. Bob and his late wife, Ruth Brungraber GP’05, are survived by his son Ben Brungraber P’05 and spouse Joel Feldman P’05, and his grandson Griffin Brungraber ’05 and spouse Caesara (Chezzie) Brungraber ’04. Bob’s contributions to Bucknell and the civil engineering department were significant. Edward “Ed” Cotter

Dear Colleagues, The campus community mourns the passing of Edward “Ed” Cotter, who died on Friday, May 13. Ed retired as professor emeritus of geology in 2000 after 34 years of service to Bucknell. Ed was a devoted teacher, a productive scholar and a passionate colleague at the University. His scholarship and teaching focused primarily on sedimentology, paleontology and the geologic evolution of Earth. Colleagues remember Ed for his passion towards the liberal arts, dedication to field-based instruction and commitment to lifelong learning. Mary Hill

The campus community mourns the passing of Mary Hill, who died on Tuesday, April 5. Mary retired as professor emerita of history and women’s studies in 2001 after 28 years of service to Bucknell. Mary’s spouse, John Anderson, is also a retired faculty member. A strong feminist scholar and cherished mentor to other women on campus, Mary created the space for the women faculty who followed her to securely take their places in the academy.
